Family-Based Mental Health Services, or FBMHS, is a 32 week program designed to strengthen families and prevent further interventions, including out of home placements. The Family Based team delivers therapeutic, case management, and emergency crisis services in order to help stabilize the family environment. An additional component of Family Based is connecting the family to other child serving agencies to ensure continuity of care. Family Based is focused on developing natural supports for the family that may include friends, neighbors, coaches, and other community members. These natural supports enhance the level of care provided to the family after discharge from the Family Based program.
