Family Based
Treatment
A team
delivered, 32-week, strength-based treatment approach with families in
which the client is at risk of out-of-home placement. The family
based therapist team delivers any therapeutic or case management
services needed to stabilize the family. The team then focuses on
connecting all child-service agencies to ensure continuity of care,
for the best interest of the child. Finally, the team will attempt to
develop or enhance a system of natural supports for the family (i.e.
extended family, neighbors, clubs, coaches, etc.) so that the intense
support felt while the family based therapy team is involved can
continue after discharge.
■
